For this indicator, there are 2 main options for the design of sliding windows:

1. vertically.

For a balcony, the first installation method is better.

The picture shows seven popular schemes, but in fact there are many more. The principles of their construction are:

• sliding the sash into the pocket of the building structure (Fig. 1 and 2);
• moving one sash to the location of another (Fig. No. 3 and No. 4);
• displacement for a fixed sash (Fig. 5 and 6);
• combined method.

The design principle of sliding devices

The movable window sash moves along the lower guides with supports due to the rollers fixed at the bottom. Above, the frame profile with a limiter keeps the block in a vertical plane. Rubber and brush seals are used for sealing.

The design can use a retention unit with a roller and a latch located on top of the window unit.

Profile fastening method

The principle of placing the main elements is shown in the picture.

The fixed frame profile is mounted on the balcony wall support.

All voids are filled with polyurethane foam, which is located between the layers of diffusion and vapor barrier tape.

Preparatory work

You need to do:

• dismantling the old window system, if it was used;
• complete cleaning of the wall block from debris and dust;
• eliminate irregularities that will interfere with the installation of the frame;
• prepare the tool.

The sequence of installation of a sliding plastic window

Frame installation

Preparatory work

First, the geometry of the balcony opening is checked according to the level and if it is not maintained, then wooden wedges or metal plates are placed at the points of fastening of the dowels.

The frame of the sliding system is connected to the profile. To do this, the inner cavity is inserted into the protrusion of the body and is set in place by light blows of a rubber hammer, which cannot deform the metal.

Then both structures are fastened with self-tapping screws into a common part. For this, it is convenient to use a screwdriver or.

On the reverse side, which will be attached to the ceiling construction element, anchor plates are fixed.

Their indentation from the edge of the frame must be less than 200 mm, and the distance between the plates should be ≤70 cm.

Installation to the opening

The prepared frame rises into the opening of the balcony and is mounted in it with the obligatory check of creating a vertical plane on both sides.

For fastening in the horizontal plane, dowel-nails are used. They are placed at a distance of ≤20 cm from the edge and up to 70 cm between themselves. Holes in the concrete are punched.

In the same way, vertical installation is performed. The distance of the dowels from the corners and between themselves is the same.

Installation of the upper ebb

The prepared structure is started from the street side, located above the frame at the same distance, which ensures reliable moisture removal from atmospheric precipitation.

The ebb is fastened with dowel-nails to the ceiling along both edges of the sheet and in the holes of all anchor plates.

Window sill installation

Preparation

The final dimensions are measured using a construction tape and cut to the required length or with a hacksaw for metal.

Mounting

The sill prepared along the length is installed in its place and screwed to the frame with self-tapping screws.

Installation of the lower ebb

The assembled ebb tide is started from the side of the street under the frame and is attached to it with self-tapping screws in several places along the center and edges.

Final works

From the street side, it is necessary to protect the construction foam from the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays. For this, polyvinyl chloride tape with a special adhesive is used.

It is applied with the inside on top of the installation site. Beforehand, a small piece of the protective strip is removed from its adhesive part. The top of the tape is straightened in place, ironed by hand and released from protection in small areas. Due to it, it is glued between the frame and the wall.

This technique is performed from top to bottom from all sides, where direct sunlight will access the foam. If PVC stickers are not applied, then after foaming the cracks, it is necessary to plaster all these areas outside the balcony.

To prevent moisture from entering the balcony through the upper ebb, its upper edges from the inside are securely processed with silicone glue.

Fastening elements to the sash

A cover and a docking profile are placed on the top. Fixing hooks are mounted on the side. The rest of the fittings are installed.

Sash installation, finishing works

The prepared sash is inserted from the bottom up into the frame and moves to its edge.

T1 fasteners are mounted at the junction of the sashes at the top and bottom of the frame.

All sashes are installed.

M2 fixing locks are mounted on the sashes.

The joint between the frame and the window sill is treated with white PVC glue.

The gaps between the frame and the wall are sealed with construction foam around the entire perimeter of the window.

A sliding window is installed. There is a protective film on the frame and sashes. It must be removed.
