The world really has a war between sensors of different sizes - and with some tricks it is possible to repair a physically larger number of pixels.
Behind the fact, the X-series has gone farther away: here the cameras are good, and the optics are sufficient - nothing more active than Fujifilm did not let out the rest of the lenses; Regardless of the record of Micro Four Thirds systems, Sony and Samsung are out - today Fuji is among the leaders in terms of the number of original optics created. The new series took away the name of GFX - the same as the historical name of the middle format Fujifilm and the X-series. A lot of things have already been understood about it - design, sensor, shutter, design features that are victorious, but even as a moment before the final launch, which will be on the cob of 2017 rock, it will change. The physical aspect ratio of the sides of the sensor is 4:3, while in this mode it is 51.4 Mpx, and the formats 1:1, 3:2, 4:5, 6:7, 6:17 are also supported. With this sensor, there is a focal shutter, which, according to the words of the virobnik, can relieve lag and work without vibrations. At its heart, the reduction in detail through the mirror arm is turned off by itself through the power of the mirror. It is also very small for a medium-format system and a working winder, which allows you to change the size of the optics and optimize its design.
An important feature of the GFX 50S is the often modular design. The camera itself is planned to release, as I already said, on the cob of 2017 rock. The exact price, obviously, is not named, but is expected to be less than 10,000 dollars for a kit-version with a 63mm lens f/2.8RWR. So, it’s even more expensive to use a pair of top-end full-frame systems, but other medium-format cameras are quite acceptable. It is still too early to prophesy novelties of success: in the first place, the system is just starting, the popularity of the X-series is improved by two or three rocks, but competitively, it was unstoppable; in a different way, the very understanding of success for a medium-format camera is even more specific - you definitely won’t become a mass one, but if you deserve the honor of a middle-sized pro-sharka of professionals - you’ll still win.

Getting to know the GFX system

There is nothing to marvel at here - Fujifilm has been actively engaged in the development of medium format cameras and the introduction of lenses for the same Hasselblad in the "splashing" hours. The Japanese quickly took up the right, and at the Photokina exhibition, which took place in 2016, it was still possible to hold a pre-production image of the GFX 50S camera in the hands.
Fujifilm took it upon themselves to do a funny experiment and released the GFX system, completely ignoring the full-frame segment. Interface and ergonomics
Fujifilm's X Series has always embraced classic design, so it's no surprise that the GFX 50S has dwindled that philosophy around its body. Similar to the top-end X-series cameras, the GFX camera can be equipped with a Fujifilm VG-GFX1 battery pack, which provides at least an additional hour of work with another battery, as well as the stability of shooting when gripping vertically.
As a bonus, you will be able to charge the battery without losing any of the battery pack, but for whom you can buy a lot of chargers. In general, the design is like the camera itself, and the vertical grip often transfers to the robot with a tripod, so the battery sockets in them are stuffed in such a way that you can easily replace the battery without knowing the camera from the tripod.
The battery life of the surroundings is 400 pictures, so that the Fujifilm battery is more durable, the X1D has 200 photos.
In the middle of the camera Fujifilm GFX 50S captures greatness 51.4-megapixel CMOS-sensor with a size of 43.8 x 32.9 mm, which allows you to take pictures from the enemy's space 8256 x 6192 pixels. The size of the sensor is 1.7 times larger, lower in a 35-mm full-frame matrix, and 3.7 times larger, lower in the APS-C matrix, and in Fujifilm X-series cameras.
In view of the X-Trans sensors, which are equipped with the younger brothers of the X series, the GFX 50S matrix is based on the traditional "Bayer" scheme. Although Fujifilm can't get by with a 50-megapixel sensor, the camera body as a whole can accommodate a larger 100-megapixel matrix, and it is not included that the line of GFX cameras can be expanded.
As you already know with representatives of the Fujifilm X-series, especially the X-T2, the control interface will not tell you the desired performance. From the visible changes, the respect is given to the choice of the capture mode - it has now moved to the Drive button.
Discs for choosing a video recorder and ISO, as before, on the ground and now, by analogy with the X-T2, they are equipped with a special stop button - a truly practical innovation, which has never been seen in the front generation of Fujifilm X-cameras.
The right-handed upper panel of the camera is embellished with a small RK display, which shows the photographer all the information about the exposure settings, as well as the balance of white, focus type, image type (RAW or JPEG) and the swimming filter simulator.

Touch screen control is common among Swedes, but Fujifilm can at once boast of being able to focus on the display, and here the X1D definitely outperforms its competitor. The image, like in rich smartphones, can be shriveled up and enlarged at a distance for help with your fingers.

Offensive lenses are even more ergonomic in the kit with the camera, especially the zoom GF 32-64mm, like the giant GF 120mm, the troch "pecks" forward when holding it by hand. Shards of insult to the objects are sufficiently large, raising the risk of a rapid drop in the value of the diaphragm, as if they are being installed behind the help of the traditional ring on the object.
Also, on the front of the XF lenses, the aperture rings of the GF lenses have acquired a C (Command) marker, when you insert one, you move the aperture with the aperture to the functional disk on the camera body. If you care that the camera has grown into 177 focus zones, then you'll be fine. The GFX 50S also allows for a wide range of coverage with 425 focus points to capture objects collapsing in Zone and Wide/Tracking modes. In the Zone mode, you can select a 3x3, 5x5 or 7x7 zone for extended areas. For an hour of focusing in the AF-C mode, the camera is constantly looking at the object and expanding it in the center of the zone.
Wide/Tracking mode is also in its own wide mode (Wide), in which GFX automatically selects the focus area in the area of 425 autofocus points, as well as the tracking mode (Tracking, with different focus mode AF-C), which covers the entire area with 425 pixels for object visualization. This function ensures uninterrupted focusing on an object that moves up and down, left-handed and right-handed, or sideways in the view of the camera. 100% crop image The dynamic range is as majestic as the sensor of the camera itself. In RAW-files, I was able to draw shadows plus up to 3-4 steps of exposure at the minimum ISO with all the ambient noise!

Regardless of the current information about Fujifilm's plans to release lenses with a central shutter in the GFX system, the company expects at least a support of such lenses with the help of special adapters. Only one is currently available for sale, the Fujifilm H mount adapter, which allows you to use a few SUPER EBC FUJINON HC lenses, available for the GX645AF flicker camera. The adapter will allow you to focus with the magnification of the video camera up to 1/800 s, but to focus with it manually - there are no autofocus aids here, unfortunately.

All in all, the GFX 50S captures the right "half-motor" - a 50-megapixel sensor, which ensures not only a faint image quality, but also expansions of the dynamic range, a great depth of the picture and a clear transmission of color. The camera allows photography without visible noise up to ISO 3200, and in general, the value of light sensitivity up to 12800.
Even though the X1D does not come with Fujifilm's innovations, as a picture, it will definitely play with speed. The GFX 50S is easier on everything: the camera zooms in faster, focuses faster, processes files faster.
The GFX video camera is one of the best in the class, it has more room for more space, lower in X1D and with some relief from lag when panning the frame. The camera screen is larger and can reduce the transmission of color, an intuitive touch interface and can rotate the function, which adds versatility to the camera.
First of all, with all the advantages, you will accept the found entry ticket to the medium format - the Pentax 645Z mirror camera, which was respected until this hour by the budgetary representative of the class, will cost approximately 80,000 rubles more expensive, not seeming already about the X1D price list.

Fujifilm's innovations are not available in serial shooting, but I still know in equal terms - like 3 frames per second is ridiculous for DSLRs and without DSLRs, but for the medium format it's a good gap.
